Paul Mathes is the Founder of Pure Craft Solutions, bringing over 25 years of experience in the beverage industry. A former semi-pro, collegiate, and high school basketball referee, Paul brings a competitive mindset to the wine and spirits business, applying the same focus and drive that helped him succeed on the court to bring your brand to the next level. His beverage industry career began as a wholesale merchandiser at a young age, eventually progressing to managing a sales route for a major wholesaler, providing him with a deep understanding of the daily challenges that distributors face.

Also, with extensive experience as an importer, Paul has managed multiple wholesalers, overseen several northeast markets, and coordinated with various distributors and sales divisions. He has successfully handled all aspects of distributor management, from implementing pricing strategies and incentive programs to building strong relationships across multiple channels. Additionally, he has led high-profile events, organized international incentive trips and market visits with renowned winemakers, distillers, and brand owners. He has overseen all aspects of the planning and launching of over 25 boutique wine and spirit brands across New England.

Paul’s extensive experience as importer and wholesaler is further complemented by an impressive on-premise background, highlighted by designing, installing and managing award-winning craft beverage programs in Connecticut and working under nationally recognized mentors for one of Boston’s most decorated restaurant groups.
